You probably just can't understand it. It's more technical as compared to the usual pop music.

I used to hate jazz as I thought it was just a group of musicians seemingly playing what they individually wanted and it sometime sounded like they weren't even playing the same tune.

I am a musician and now I am older and have listened to it a bit more it is very technical and clever and is quite interesting to listen to.

I wouldn't say I am a big fan and wouldn't choose to listen to it, but if I am some where it is played I can appreciate it.

It is a bit like classical music or Big Band music. Not a big fan but as I say as a musician I can appreciate what it takes for it all to come together so sometimes listen and enjoy it.
