What is your unbiased opinion of politics today?
I’m so sick of politics now. Republicans and Democrats are supposed to be elected to serve the american people and do what’s best, yet it’s turned into doing what’s best for the party. Dems have been so fixated on impeachment and investigating trump that no one truly knows what their main points are for 2020. Republicans are so worried about not having a republican president impeached that they are going against their own word to defend him and not worrying about if he committed crimes. Both only want to investigate the other side, but don’t want to investigate their own party because the “look” it will present to the public. Both Obama and trump made good decisions in different scenarios, but the other side will never admit it. Both supposedly were going to help fix and clean up Washington, yet I don’t know if it’s ever been more of a swamp and soap opera than it is today

What is my unbiased opinion? Can something like that ever be achieved? Humans are all driven by their own egos, as egoists claim, which is inherent to human beings. When one desires the good of another human being, it is due to the fact that such act will make oneself "happy" or "glad" (satisfied) and therefore all acts, regardless of how altruistic it may seem, are ultimately egoistic.
That is human nature (in my opinion). Of course, one may try to be unbiased and can get fairly close, but at the end of the day, one cannot escape it.
Having said this, from my observations, both parties are only seeking their own self interests (to "preserve" themselves from irrelevancy). The leaders of both parties will take any given position as long as it satisfies the mobs and win them votes, even if it is bad for the country overall.
Now, let us address the people themselves.
Always in pursue of information, but not just any kind of information. They continuously seek that which agrees with their views. Confirmation bias. Considering that egoistic individuals tend to ignore opposite opinions or consider opposite views as "dumb" or "stupid" while favoring information that supports one's view, I can say that a vast majority of individuals are egoistic by default (which, in my opinion, is inherent to all humans, at least, that is how my argument goes).
To conclude, everyone is egoistic (it is not necessarily bad though unless it is excessive), and these traits are extremely prevelant in politicians.
When they are wrong, they refuse to admit their wrongness and instead try to fabricate facts by spreading misinformation or try to convince the audience that they "never supported" those ideas even though it is clearly documented that they have supported it in the past.
This is my opinion of course. I tried to be as unbiased as I could but of course, I can never escape my biases. But I tried my best. Hope this helps :)

The good thing is that moderates decide elections because there are more of them than there are Party people who always vote Democrat or Republican.

It will be better once Trump is gone. Trump brings out the worst in everyone. He is a toxic, psychopath.

I find the unswerving knee-jerk loyalty of Trump supporters breathtaking in it's expanse. They are totally immune to logic. It's always about 30-35%. Amazing.

The democrats have been exposed for what they are and in their effort to oust a lawfully elected president they have taken politics and political issues even further into the gutter. Their hatred, greed and inherent violent nature has damaged our nation, perhaps beyond repair.
