Can a lawsuit be dismissed if a claim by the plaintiff is a lie for example an injury has as a result of an accident has caused them to?

lose job opportunities but is later shown to be working and earning money during the course of the lawsuit?

    That would be a rock solid defense...as long as the job obtained wasn't just a very recent event.

    Just because they are working doesn't mean they didn't lose opportunities due to the injury. They may have had to take a lesser job than one they could have had without the injury. See?

    You can show their claims are false in court if you like.

    No, but it may reduce the "actual" damages sought.  Working doesn't deny the defendant's negligence, and usually doesn't allow them to work in the same capacity or the same rate.  And then punitive damages still exist.  But the defendant can win the case by proving the plaintiff lied that the injury never occurred.  It's just pretty hard to overcome medical records.
