How long does it take?

I've been with my current employer for 3 years. They're opening locations in other states so I applied to be transferred (same position). I did a video interview last week Wednesday. I received an email three days ago with answers to questions I had during the interview.  However, when I asked about when I should hear back about whether I'm being offered a position, I received a response like this "I received an email from my supervisor today. He says he is reaching out to the current stakeholders. He is new so things are moving a bit slower, but I'm pushing to hear something back from him ASAP." I don't know what this means, but I need to know something because the end of my lease is coming up and I need to let my leasing office know if I'll be moving. I may be a little impatient, but I need to know ASAP. I've told them this. Either way, I'd like to know their decision. I'm not a new employee so I don't understand why it takes so long so make a decision on allowing an employee to transfer states.

The reason it takes so long is because it's utter and asinine corporate nonsense. It could take them months to make a decision with all of the ridiculous nonsense they're going to waste all the time they can waste doing that is stupid and just plain irritaingly not relevant or necessarry.

You have to do you and you're on a time limit with your living situation so what I would do is talk to the leasing office and let them know what's going on. They might agree to let you stay on a mont-to-month basis to give the dipschitt's time to do their screwing around so that if they do finally make the decision to transfer you you'll only need to give the lease a 30 day notice to move.

Once you give a 30 day notice you can move immediately. You don't have to stay for that 30 days. You don't have to be in a rush either. The 30 days is to give you reasonable time to get everything you need to get done completed.

Why is is taking so long?
- maybe there are lots of people interested.
- maybe the new boss is just getting his feet wet and isn't sure what the specific characteristics s/he is looking for in their team.

Can't you go month to month so you can move at any time?
