Did the NFL have financial justification for not hiring Colin Kaepernick post protest?

Teams hire players not the league.As far as fianancial there may be some incentive to not hire him.He would get the veteran minium for aa QB!He would likely be a backup and lets face it there are a lot cheaper players for that position.But not all moves should be just be based on fianaces

Actually, my best guess is that Colin Kaepernick probably developed a poor work ethic during the end of his time with the San Francisco 49ers. However, if Kaepernick rededicates himself to work hard and perform very well in practice every day, he will greatly improve his chances of getting signed to play for an NFL team in the future.

No and they don't have to because no employer is required to hire a particular person, and the teams would sign or hire him and not the league itself.

He wasnt a very good QB at the end.

The NFL doesn't hire players. The teams do. 

Financially, Kaepernick is a liability to the league. His actions offend most of the end consumers. There are far better QBs who don't pose a financial liability to the league. 

At 32 he's past his prime. He hasn't played a game in the NFL since 2016 and has only won three games since 2014. His career rating of 88.9 would rank in the bottom third of the league this year behind Gardner Minshew. 

@Jim- Why would they? The only skill he has is throwing a football. The NFL could put an ad up on Indeed and have 1000 more qualified resumes in a hour. They could pay those people a fraction of what Kaepernick thinks he's worth and not have to put up with the headache of having an employee who pisses off most of their consumers and advertisers. On top of that, there's probably several owners who wouldn't be happy with the idea and that could create some problems. 

@Tom- he had ZERO supporters. There were a few people willing to put up with his BS long enough to take a look at him, yes. That doesn't qualify them as "supporters" though. After he decided to refuse to try out until everybody moved the entire try out to somewhere else though, EVERYBODY said "**** this BS and went home"

If you owned a business and needed to hire someone....be it minimum wage guy or a high-ranking executive... and you had a candidate that was 2-3 years removed from the workforce and unwilling to commit to you that his main focus would be on the job, wouldn't you feel justified in passing on him regardless of the wage?

As far as I know, no Employer is required to hire someone. You are free to hire and fire anyone you choose. Is it up to The National Football League to tell one of the 32 Teams or The NFL itself to hire Colin Kaepernick? I don't think so. You can be of the opinion that Colin Kaepernick has a better skill set than some of the players who are presently playing in The NFL, but no one is required to offer him a Contract.
