Abandoned Railways.?
Does anyone in the Dallas-Fort Worth area know of any abandoned rail lines within 50 to 60 Miles that still have their rails and cross-ties still in place?
I've seen several videos of "rail-bikes" and it has piqued my interests in trying it, if there is such a rail bed within the above mentioned distance.

They are not abandoned for long. The rails can be reused on a different line so they get pulled up to be installed elsewhere. Cross ties also get removed and used for landscaping...or maybe reused again depending on condition.

Also try an abandoned rail yard, or storage tracks. Problem with abandoned main line rails across the land, they remove all at grade rails where auto traffic intersects them. People don't like having to bump across abandoned tracks.
