International stamps on a symphony card I’m mailing from USA to New Zealand. ?

I’m mailing someone in New Zealand a symphony card.  I went to the post office and brought an international stamp. I was given the international stamp along with a USPS tracking number sticker.  Do I have to put the USPS tracking number sticker on a card that I’m mailing from New Jersey (USA) to New Zealand?  I want to make sure, but I don’t feel the tracking number sticker is necessary for a card.

Update:

I didn’t question anyone cause I brought the stamp at a self serve machine.

First about the card = the card is a US card.  That means if it is accepted in NZ that all the transactions will be converted into USD.  There will likely be a conversion fee for each transaction.

If you want your card tracked so you know it was delivered, you need the tracking sticker put on it.

    - if you don't, then you wouldn't.

You aren't going to be able to claim insurance if you don't have the tracking number.  You probably can't claim insurance either because insurance probably doesn't cover a debit card.

Even with tracking sticker on the card, the NZ post office might not use it.
