If a leash is stuck in a descending elevator, which direction would the dog move? What about ascending? ?

PLS let us understand how the leash is arranged ...i dare say the leash moves exactly the way the dog moves , i.e. stuch seen by the inside of the elevator

where is the dog, inside or outside the elevator?  The leash will move with the elevator, so the dog will move with the elevator as well.  ascending means up. descending means down.  Clearly, if the dog is outside, the leash or the dog will break rather than the elevator.  Maybe both.
