I don't know how to study for exams?

I try so hard, but in the end of the day I am always missing an important topic. I don't know how to review, I don't know what topics are important, and I don't know how much time I should take. PLEASE help. My teachers don't give study guides.

No interrogative pronoun = not a question. You've been reported.

The way I study is basically I buy a notebook and make short notes on that topic so it’s easier to remember than learning the whole thing and using different coloured pens to make them stand out and see better than just one colour

if you want to remember facts. put them in a song so it sticks to your brain. study by reviewing notes over the course of several days. DO NOT DO IT ALL IN ONE DAY!!!!! YOU WILL NOT REMEMBER ANYTHING!

You should join or form a study group with classmates. One person can outline information from the textbook, another can summarize class notes, another can prepare flash cards with a question on one side and the answer on the other. At least one of them may have older siblings who have studied with the teacher before and is familiar with their test-giving style. Then you all study them together. Also, you can ask the teacher how to study. Sometimes they will give you helpful advice.

You may want to give some exams more study time than others, so find a balance that you feel comfortable with.

    1.) Organize your study space.

2.) Use flow charts and diagrams.

    3.) Practice on old exams.

4.) Explain your answers to others.

5.) Organize study groups with friends.

    6.) Take regular breaks.

    7.) Snack on brain food.

    8.) Plan your exam day.

I always would over study for the first test until you get an idea of how your teacher prepares tests. Some stick to mostly just their lectures, some the questions in their text books, etc. I recommend taking notes during class, real in-depth notes. Then when it’s time to study rewrite those notes summing them up, go through the text book, write down all headings and subheadings and summarize the texts in the paragraphs that go with them. Also write down any and all terms and their definitions. After that read through all of your notes 2-3 times. The writing helps it stick more then the reading. If there are a lot of items to memorize make flash cards throughout the weeks and have them ready. I know it’s a Ton of work but trust me, always over study for the first test and then you’ll have an idea for how that teacher picks what is on the test. Take 2-3 hours, split up over 2 days if you can’t do it in one night. You’ll learn some classes I ended up only needing 40 minute and some I needed the full three hours Also don’t throw any notes away, keep for finals. If by exams you meant term finals and not regular tests, then use your test notes and the tests themselves to study

Your teachers give study guides - it is the stuff you study everyday. Learn while you are in class. Ask your teacher questions. Do the assigned homework and actually do it (i.e. learn from it). You don't need to study the night before a test and cram everything in...that is definitely NOT how to study.
