How to ask to work again?

I had worked as a dishwasher for Logan’s Roadhouse for about 7 months before I went to school in August. They had told me that I could come back and work whenever, especially when I had my school breaks. Well, it’s that time. The time to start working again. I’m just curious as to how to go about asking to work? Could I just go and and talk to a manger and ask if I could work again? This is my second job that has told me I could go back and work, and that they wouldn’t take me off the system. The first one was Walmart but by the time I went back, they had closed that one down. Anyways, thanks!
