Is it ideal to call in at all if you are on your second week of work? ?
I started my new job as a assembly line operator on the 8th of this month. I work 3rd shift if that matters at all. 10PM - 6:30AM. I'm needing to call in for tonight. Would it be good for me to or not? If it will give the wrong impression or do anything negative for that matter, I won't! It's just for today. I am 30 day to hire, being hired is coming up soon. They did, however say, we could call in ONCE. Thanks!
9 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment8 months agoCan you download pre-made android home pages? ?
Any chance you can download pre-made homepages off the internet? Like someone has already use home apps like lawnchair or nova, etc and customized a page you can download and use. I've made one but want something new but I'm not really that creative. Thanks!
Software11 months agoCan I be stopped driving on tags that expire this month?
The DMV always tells me my tags will expire either on your birth month or actually date. Since mine are expire in May of this year, could I get pulled over if I was to drive my car or is it once June hits, then I can get pulled over? Thanks!
6 AnswersInsurance & Registration12 months agoShould I go ahead and get the air professional removed from my cooling system?
After replacing the expansion tank (again) and thermostat, the leaking and overheating of my 2005 BMW X3 seems to have stopped. I have bled the air for a good 30 minutes. I made sure no bubbles was coming out. My friend who runs a shop, recommended that I have it professionally removed of air in the cooling system. Is this necessary considering I don't see signs of overheating and or really anything that could be wrong. Everything is back to normal before it became an issue. Would that mean I got most, if not all of the air or is it better to be on the safe side? It was estimated to be about $70. In no way shape or form is it a big deal but thought I'd get more opinions.
5 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 year agoMy 2005 BMW X3 is leaking and overheating?
My expansion tank on my car had exploded. I replaced it. It continued to overheat, so I had it checked out. This mechanic shop that I went to, specializes in foreign cars. They gave me a list of possible problems. I ended up fixing the radiator, water pump, thermostat, the hoses related to the coolant system (upper and lower), and o-rings. It worked for 2 days and then started pouring coolant from the bottom. I've bled the air from the system as best as possible everytime. Well today, I had pulled into a gas station and it started to overheat and was pouring coolant everywhere from underneath, nothing ever related to the top (nothing pouring from the top). I don't know what to do or think? Perhaps I need to get the air properly removed? But what explains the leaking? Thanks!
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 year agoDeposited $87, got $700. ?
I’m currently out running errands with my sister and she had ended up stopping by an atm to deposit some money because one month she paid an electric company too much money. They sent her a refund check and she wanted to deposit it. When we got to the atm, she had inserted her card and was asked question (obviously). She had tapped, deposit check, checking account twice (I suppose to confirm that’s the account she wanted the money to go too), and than it told use to hold on as it was reading the check. After reading it came to the next screen saying the amount being deposited was $700. We thought that was weird and I said to just continue, it might fix itself. She continued and it said money was deposited. We had then checked the amount on her mobile app and there it was, $700. $500 of it was on hold. I figured maybe they were confirming but it had given her $200 of it. This is the first time I had seen/heard of this so I have no idea, obviously lol. She was asked to enter the amount of the check as the machine had taken a picture of it. I have the picture of the check on the receipt. We, as of right now, are going to wait until Monday when the bank opens and take it in and figure it all out. In the meantime, however, I figured I’d ask to see what could be up. Thanks!
5 AnswersPersonal Finance1 year agoWould I be safe to drive to a nearby Autozone?
I’m needing spring clips for expansion tank hoses. Clearly I need them as they were on once before. Since I lost them, I’m needing new ones. The hoses are attached and I have clicked them into place but was unable to put the wires clips around the hoses as I lost them. Any chance I could still drive the car to a nearby Autozone to buy them? Thanks!
10 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 year agoWhere can I find them the cheapest at? ?
I have replaced the expansion tank in my 2005 BMW X3. As I was replacing it, in the process of removing the hoses, I lost the little spring wire that hugs the hose. It’s the spring clip that wraps around the hoses. Does anyone know where I can find them relatively cheap? I have looked around but their up there in price and I only need two. The one that connects towards the top of the expansion tank and the another being towards the middle. The only middle hose. Thanks!
4 AnswersBMW1 year agoWhat could be the issue?
I have a 2005 BMW X3 3.0i. It has 153,000 miles. I was pulling into my apartment complex when I heard a chime. I look down to see what the chime was about and the temperature gauge how moved to red and the coolant light came on. I quickly pulled into the nearest parking spot. While doing so, it had hesitated to go. Makes sense, I figured I just mention. Before the chime, it was running normally, didnt show any weird and unusual behavior before it had occurred. Upon parking my car, I had popped the hood and let it cool down. A guy who was a "mechanic" came out and asked what happened. I told him and he had responded with saying "we could try somethings." He asked if I had coolant and I said yes. I gave him the coolant and he had poured it, immediately upon pouring it, you could hear it running out from underneath the car. After that, he realized he didnt want to use the coolant as the liquid to determine where the water was coming out of. He got water instead. He found out the water was coming out directly underneath where you put the coolant in. He also, after doing so, gave me a bunch of possibilities. I had looked online aswell to get an idea. For a in the moment type thing, I wanted to get an idea as to what I could be looking at. Not to worried about price. I just want my baby fixed lol. I know ite hard to go off what I'm saying vs actually seeing the car, but I've tried my best to explain. Anything is helpful, thanks!
7 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 year agoAnything Verizon can do about it or would do about it? ?
Roughly 6 months ago, I bought a S10 5G. I have the highest plan available that makes sense. Some of their plans just aren’t justifiable for $10 more. Anyway, I had recently been in a wreck and my phone was shattered, both back and front. I ended denying the protection service as I never had an issue with breaking or dropping my electronic devices. So, once I found out how much it was to fix or I could wait a month to have the device protection plan to take place, I’d figure I’d switch back to Apple. It was better for school as well with every Apple product transferring data between each other quickly. So, I bought a refurbished IPhone XS Max Unlocked Verizon. I had put my sim from my Samsung into the IPhone and have been using just fine. I switched plans as my S10 was 5G compatible. I was just wondering if they’d do anything about it. I mean, I’m not only paying for the S10 but also for the service. So, it’s technically like I still have the phone and using it but only I’m not. I do still have it and am using the service on the line, I was just curious if they’d do anything about it. It has been a bit, about a month. I also had purchase a Tab S4 for school when I had everything Samsung. I sold that awhile ago and of course took the sim out. I’m obviously paying for the tablet and service. Service is only $10. They haven’t done anything about it yet but was just curious if I could expect them to do something. They are still getting their money and paying for the products.
Cell Phones & Plans1 year agoWhy can’t I see clearly out of these contacts? ?
I recently ordered a pair of Waldo’s daily contacts because I got a month pair for just $2 and thought I’d give them a try as a cheaper alternative. I currently get contacts from Vision Works. I get 3 months pair of contacts for $40 vs it being a lot cheaper with Waldo per month. My only concern is, the set I ordered with Waldo was the exact prescription but when I put them in, it’s blurry and not clear at all. As a matter of fact, they are even worse then that of my bare eyes. I’m just wondering if anyone has an idea as to why that might be? I looked it up and got a couple ideas but thought someone on her would lead me to a better and more secure answer. I would call Waldo themselves but I ended up receiving them after they had closed at 5. Thanks!
3 AnswersOptical1 year agoHow to ask to work again?
I had worked as a dishwasher for Logan’s Roadhouse for about 7 months before I went to school in August. They had told me that I could come back and work whenever, especially when I had my school breaks. Well, it’s that time. The time to start working again. I’m just curious as to how to go about asking to work? Could I just go and and talk to a manger and ask if I could work again? This is my second job that has told me I could go back and work, and that they wouldn’t take me off the system. The first one was Walmart but by the time I went back, they had closed that one down. Anyways, thanks!
2 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 year agoHow to go about telling parents?
I had started my first year of college this past August for the Fall semester. I'm in a program to prove I'm worthy of going to this particular university as the four years of high school, I just messed around. The program requires you to have a 2.0GPA and passing all classes. The year was going good, really good in fact. That is up until the end, the last month really. I was passing all but 2 classes. I was taking 5 in total. The 2 classes were, a transition class from high school to college and the other, an intro to computers class. I didn't know how to do a couple modules for the intro class and for the transition class, there was an assignment to do kind of like a ted talk for 5 minutes in front of the class. I can't and will not do anything that involves talking in front of people. Unless of course it's for a job. By then, of course, I'd hopefully move on from this stage of nervousness when in front of people. I get sweaty, red, and start to stutter horribly. Common, I know. Anyways, I refused to do it and it hurt me. I talked to the professor but said it had to be done and the way he wanted it to be done, in front of others. He said it was a zero of course as my chance to do it in front of the class was over, he had already moved on to the next student. That's what he had said. That was a way to show the difference between whats required in college vs high school. I can only understand and accept his way of doing things. I can’t get mad or upset.
3 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 year agoWhat could cause my Macbook Pro to turn off after just starting up?
So, I recently got El Capitan to install on my 2009 Macbook Pro. Everything worked fine. I used it to watch youtube, surf the web for a bit, and I messed around with the settings to my liking. Well, I turned it off to run up to the store. I came back and had turned it on. After having turned on, it booted up like normal but turned immediately off. I did it again and the light came on, then turned off. I did it again and it booted up to a white screen with the Apple logo and a status bar but then turned off. I did it once more and it booted up as normal and am now using it with no issues. That's how I'm writing this, on the Macbook. I'm just curious as to what the issue could be. Perhaps the age? I just replaced the logic board and ram, along with the hard drive cable. As long as it turns on and works eventually, I'm not bothered by it but don't want to ruin it by it constantly crashing essentially. Any thoughts? Thanks, much appreciated!
2 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 year agoWhy does the battery seem like it's dying fast?
So, I just got my 2009 17-inch Macbook Pro up and running. It claims the battery only has 80 cycles but seems to be dying quite fast. Is this normal for how old it is or perhaps I need a new battery? What do you think, thanks!
4 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 year agoCan I do this? ?
So, I’m heading down to NJ tomorrow to drop my sister off, as she wants to live with my Aunt. I had totaled my car and am currently looking for a new one. Well, I found a really nice one down in NJ. It’s an 1 hour away from where we will be staying as the drive will be 10 hours. I’m coming from KY. My question is though, am I able to drive it back when we head back this way to KY. I planned on checking it out. Yes, I have seen pictures online and have talked to the owner. And if I was to want it, I would of added insurance, to at least been insured on the way back. Anything could happen in those 10 hours coming back and just want to be safe, even though I don’t expect anything to happen (as anyone would). So, is it possible to buy it in NJ, have the title put in my name, car insured and then drive it back? I know you can buy out of state but this will be almost 750 miles out of state and was curious. Thanks!
5 AnswersInsurance & Registration1 year agoWhat could be wrong?
So, I bought a used MacBook Pro with the only issue being that it powers on sometimes according to the seller. I didn’t think it could be that big of a deal considering just issues have fixes and because I got it so cheap, I was willing to toss in some additional money to get it fixed. I have now received the MacBook, today as a matter of fact. Upon powering it on, it didn’t turn on. Okay, I knew that was to be expected as the seller mentioned it in the description. He also mentioned, whenever he got it to power on, he held the shift button. Well, I did that and countless other commands to try and get it to turn on. I notice that the fans work and a light on the front facing me works. The do, however, turn off a few seconds after. I’m not able to take it to a nearby repair shop until tomorrow but was curious to see what the issue might be before taking it in. Perhaps at least an idea, that way I know what I’m looking at in terms of repair and cost. Thanks!
4 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 year agoDo you think it could arrive earlier?
So, I had ordered an item that was said to be delivered Friday (27th). It, however, yesterday arrived at a nearby distribution center. It arrived at 2:07 on the 24th. Any chance it could arrive earlier and not on the 27th? I could careless if it does or not as Friday is practically around the corner, sorta? If anything, I'm just curious. Thanks!
3 AnswersPacking & Preparation1 year agoWhat happens now?
Roughly 5 hours ago, I lost control at 70MPH (that was the speed limit on the freeway I was driving on) while heavily raining. My car spun 180 and then scraped the side of the middle lane barrier, to which then my car spun left about 90 degrees and flipped, sliding a couple of feet to a halt. I (hanging upside down) unbuckled my seat belt and crawled out of my car. A guy who had stopped, came and ask if I was okay, and then proceeded with calling the police. Once they got there, I had answered questions and was asked if I wanted to go to the hospital. I honestly didn't know what to do because this has never happened before. He insisted on my getting checked up. I was then taking to the hospital and had my wounds looked at and fixed up. I three fairly big abrasions on my left and right knee, along with my left elbow. 5 hours later, I'm here on my computer asking what happens now lol. I'm only 19 and I ask because I only have liability. I would ask my parents but are currently asleep. So, I resorted to what I know. Resorting to asking you. I was giving a report number and was told I could get my belongings when the impound lot opens. I was coming from school because I'm currently on break. When it comes time to involve my insurance, will they cover the cost of it? Can I expect anything to be done that is beneficial to me from my insurance? Or can I expect for this to be considered my fault (I read a little online) and I'l have to either cover the damages or a new car?
10 AnswersInsurance & Registration1 year agoShould I switch back to Apple?
So, about 6 or 7 months ago, I switched from Apple to Samsung. It was a nice and refreshing change for once, but, I think I regret it and am having second thoughts. When I had switched, I switched my IPhonr X for an S10 5G, Apple Watch (1st gen) for a Gear S3, IPad Pro for a Tab S4, and Airpods for Galaxy buds. I like to switch everything when going for a new company (to me, makes sense). Everything about Samsung is just great, their products are, for the most part, super innovative (like that galaxy fold, come on now lol), clean, and just look and feel awesome. The only thing is, I'm kind of home sick, I guess? After all, Apple is who I was with first. And don't get me wrong by no means, Android is nice. I love that Android company's give unnecessary specs for their phones (that's a good thing, not being sarcastic). But something in me is like telling me I should go back. Watching videos on new Apple products being released doesn't help but I can't help it. Android is great in all, but it tends to lag way more then what I remember Apple devices doing. I knew that was to come and it's not unbearable, just a little annoying. App crashes on occasion and I do for sure miss the every other day updates for your phone (exaggerating but you get my point). I could go on and on but I'm saving you reading. So, what do you think? Ultimately it's my decision but I'd like to know on how you stand. Should I switch back or stay with? Thanks soooo much!
