Is it ideal to call in at all if you are on your second week of work? ?

I started my new job as a assembly line operator on the 8th of this month. I work 3rd shift if that matters at all. 10PM - 6:30AM. I'm needing to call in for tonight. Would it be good for me to or not? If it will give the wrong impression or do anything negative for that matter, I won't! It's just for today. I am 30 day to hire, being hired is coming up soon. They did, however say, we could call in ONCE. Thanks!

It is not ideal to call in at all if you are on your second week of work at your new assembly line operator job. If you need to call in then call in but it would not be good for you to call in unless absolutely necessary. Even though, they said that you can call in once during your first 30 days after being hired, it will give the wrong impression and the company will look negatively towards you for calling in. Your welcome.

No its not a good idea to call off so soon, work around whatever is going on. Go to work.

It is not a good idea to call in during your probationary period, especially since you've only been working for about a week.

If it would look negative then you won’t call off means you don’t actually NEED to call off tonight. If you need to call off because you are vomiting and running a fever, that’s one thing. If you want to call off because you need to sleep tonight to be somewhere in the morning, then you should go to work. Calling off your second week of work never looks good, and if you’re in a temp role, could impact your getting hired on permanent. Choose wisely.

I wouldn't, personally. It certainly wouldn't look good.

    It's not good.

    It gives the wrong impression.

Could and should are not the same thing.

If they are hiring everyone who is temp and allow one absence, then you might still get the job.

If they only hire some and most don't have the absence, then you likely won't make the cut.

"it's only for today".... until the next time.
