Can I be stopped driving on tags that expire this month?
The DMV always tells me my tags will expire either on your birth month or actually date. Since mine are expire in May of this year, could I get pulled over if I was to drive my car or is it once June hits, then I can get pulled over? Thanks!

Unless you are being stopped for another reason, cops will not stop you in the same month as your expiration month. Especially this year with all of the license centers being closed, at least in my state. The state has formally announced that extensions are applied out to the end of June.

With covid going, I read that it takes longer to get the tags. I think I read could be 2 months out, so no it should not be a problem. As long as you pay for the tag, but even without covid they give you an extra month at least in my state.

Most states are allowing a free pass due to the Covid thing. Even if you get stopped, it's not the crime of the century.

Although we are in lockdown, I just renewal notices for my cars (tag expire in June) so they appear to be processing at least here. Given that, if I was to drive on expired tags I could be pulled over. That said, my wife spots expired tags from months ago (long before COVID) and they apparently haven't been noticed by the police.

As long as the plates are not expired, they wouldn't stop you for expired plates sunshine.
