No, they sure don't. They're somewhat complementary. 

Maybe if you had like a pale pink and an olive green jacket ?

Do you mean pink skin and green hair, or green skin and pink hair?  Whichever it is, why not?  Mix it up a little!

I suppose, but I don't like putting two bright colours together, except maybe if one was pale. 

Red and green are complementary colors so they stand out when they’re next to each other. If you want to draw attention that’s the way to go. Notice how in drawings like comics, redheads usually have green eyes. 

They do in nature so why not clothes.

They match up until you turn about 22. Then they look horrible.

Not really. Pink and Purple do; just look at the 80's art.
