Refund on debit card?

On Sunday I went to a restaurant I had paid with my debit card but then I noticed that I was charged wrong so the manager of the restaurant asked me to place my card back on the chip scanner to get my money back. She was going to refund me back the money and charge me again in a different transaction. She did that. Then I went to my bank app on my

Phone and check if the refund went through but nothing shows. It shows that I was charged for both transactions. I have gotten refunds before and they usually happen right on the spot. Is this normal? Will it take days? What should I do?

THAT is abnormal. The card processing systems NORMALLY take 3 to 5 business days to process refunds.

You should keep an eye on your account and if it hasn't been fixed in a week, dispute the first charge with yor bank.

You should been given printed confirmation of the cancelation and refund.

Different merchants use different payment processing systems. Sometimes refunds are instant but generally, they take 2 or 3 business days. Generally, transactions are listed as "pending" before they settle a few days later. The unintended transaction will likely just fall off
