Should Eli Manning be inducted into the hall of fame?

2 Super Bowls on the giant (pun semi-intended) stage of New York gets him in whether he should be there or not.  

Hell yeah !!   Good man with good moral character. Superb leader. Wins big on the big stage. Beat the best teams on his way to TWO Super Bowl MVP's. Never had alot of weapons but has big numbers because of his long career, one that spanned 236 games and 210 straight starts — the latter a remarkable feat. He threw for 57,023 yards, 366 touchdowns, 244 interceptions, and completed just over 60 percent of passes during the regular season. 

One thing for certain, he will. Just not first ballot but he'll get there within the 5 year window.

No, I don't think he should, but he will and I would not be shocked if he was elected on the first ballot, because I think he has been given what I call  prererential treatment by fans and the media.The best example is how many people really believe that when he said before  he was drafted,that he would not sign with the Chargers,who had the #1 overall pick,if they drafted him  that this was all or virtually all his father,Archie Mannings doing, and that Eli had nothing or almost nothing to do with it.

Yes, Eli Manning is going to get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Eli is one of only 5 quarterbacks to win the Super Bowl MVP multiple times, ranked in the Top 10 of both the all-time passing yardage and passing touchdown lists, and holds the 3rd longest streak for most consecutive games started by a quarterback.

He just retired, it will be awhile before he has a chance to be inducted.

No, he SHOULD not.  Eli Manning was a THOROUGHLY average quarterback for his era.  And I mean that literally.  Statistically speaking he was EXTREMELY close to the actual league averages throughout his career.  If he gets into the HoF he would easily be the worst player ever inducted.  Eli doesn't even belong in the Hall of Above Average, because he wasn't.

Just to take one example, Eli's CAREER BEST season passer rating was 93.6.  This is in an era where the good quarterbacks REGULARLY have 100+ ratings.  A 93.6 (for example) would be the 6th worst seasonal rating of Drew Brees' entire career (that includes he pre-breakout seasons).  And that's despite the fact that Eli wasn't a high volume QB.  He wasn't throwing 50 passes to keep his team in games like a Brees or Mahomes. 

However, I think the odds are that he WILL be inducted.  This is the power and bias of the New York media.  Eli's their guy, and they're going to make it very difficult for the HoF voters to keep Eli out.  This is why Eli BRIEFLY was called an 'elite' QB after his SB wins.  The media wanted that narrative and even though every real football person laughed at the idea, the media kept pushing it.  And they're going to do it again.

The ONE thing Eli advocates keep leaning on are those two Super Bowl runs.  They gush about how 'clutch' Eli was in those runs.  They neglect to admit that Eli was outright bad in his other postseason appearances nor do they like to notice that Eli wasn't very clutch in the regular season most of the time.  Instead, his entire career get's condensed down to those 8 games and we're told to ignore everything else.  Yet in the first SB run, Eli wasn't actually that good!  He had some fine moment to be sure, but overall he was very pedestrian.  And both runs were mostly about great defense carrying him.  

Trying to put Eli in the HoF is only one notch more ridiculous than trying to put Trent Dilfer there.  After all, Trent won a SB also.  He had clutch moments in the Ravens' run.  But we don't put Trent in that conversation.  Why?  Because the HoF is about a CAREER, not a couple of cherry picked games.

I think he eventuly will be.Not first ballot but he probably will get in.

No, in his prime he was an average QB at best.
