How do I get Parrafin/ kerosene out of my carpet?

I had a Galileo thermometer and my son broke it on my carpet. The smell was really strong and i read different things online saying it was parrafin inside and another said kerosene. I blotted up the stain as best as I could, poured hot water over it, scrubbed with palmolive oxy dish soap, and then i also have tried sprinkling baking soda over it and leaving it sit before vacuuming ut up, and I also scrubbing with vinegar. I don't know what else i can do. Theres no stain on the carpet, just the smell

Lay brown paper over the area and run a hot iron over the paper.  It should heat up the paraffin so it can absorb into the paper.  Move the paper around to absorb on dry sections of the paper.

The baking soda will work but you just have to keep doing it.

If you can get some cheap clay based cat litter that will be better at absorbing oil.

Pour cat litter onto the area till it is 1/2" thick - then walk on it to break it up and compress it. leave it on for a few days if you can. Scrape the top flat and put a rug over it. Hoover it all up after 4 days or so.

Even works on tarmac with old oil stains.- Sucks the oil right out, but takes a few days.

You can hasten the evaporation with a hair dryer, but the odor will probably linger for some time. If you can, open a window.
