I thought Greg Olsen retired?
I thought Greg Olsen retired? from the Carolina Panthers. Can he just go and sign with another team, without the Panthers getting something in return. Can`t the Panthers stop Olsen, and franchise tag him, and force him to play with them?. Also, don`t the panthers have any rights to Greg Olsen..Is retirement just a ploy to move on,, Shame on you Greg Olsen, if it is.......

I've watching Greg Olsen doing Color Commentary for Fox Sports for XFL Football Games the last 2 weekends. I thought The Carolina Panthers and Greg Olsen mutually agreed to his release so that Carolina could get his massive contract off their books and get some Salary Cap Space. As far as I know, Greg Olsen can go to a tryout for anyone of the 32 Teams in The NFL and sign a Contract with any team.

The Panthers released him. They no longer wanted to hold his rights. He can sign anywhere he wants.

He did not retired. He was released from the Panthers on Feb. 3rd, 2020. So he could sign with any team he wanted to.

Well, you thought wrong. Congratulations.
Josh Norman isn't retiring from the Redskins either. Figure I'll give you a headstart when he signs elsewhere.
