I think you mean ARE his parents British?  Joseph Hepworth WAS actually Chinese, born Zhang Wei Chan in Sichuan in 1943. His parents arrived in the UK in 1965 where they opened the first Mcdonalds in Dorset, and became very wealthy. Young Zhang was a precocious child, and attracted attention by wearing Victorian dandy style clothing which ultimately led to him leaving the confines of Dorset and becoming an apprentice to the VERY young Vivienne Westwood. He shortly after started a clothing line selling at the Portobello  markets, then opened his first 'Next' store in Billingsgate in 1960.

Yes.  He was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England.
