liquid soap needs water to wash AWAY the germs--just rubbing liquid soap on your hands will create a mess and I would thin, a lovely surface for germs to stick to.

washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds is supposed to be more effective than even hand sanitizer....so not sure why no one is hoarding soap--just hand sanitizer??

It's pretty effective at cleaning but it is better with water.

Why would you ask about without water? That makes no sense. You will still need to rinse the soap off your hands.

they are all the same effectiveness.

Plain soap of any kind makes the water "wetter" so bacteria slides of the skin easier. You still need to scrub properly. Note that surgeons must scrub, with brushes for a specific lenth of time, no matter what kind of soap they have in the operating prep room.

Hand sanitizer is alcohol based need to be put on already cleaned hands. Its not to be used on dirty hands, per instructions ON THE BOTTLE.

It is not, soap is a surface tension reducer and it is too thick to be of use without dilution.

Not very, as it will rapidly cause your skin to dry and crack, making it far more susceptible to infections.

A thorough wash with soap & water then rinse very well to remove all the soap is best.
