Biden hasn't been great in the debates so far, but Trump is disastrous. During the Republican primary debates he did pretty bad. He I survived mostly because there were so many other candidates that they train their fire on each other and sort of talked around him. Trump only had energy for maybe the first 20 minutes to half an hour. After that he kind of faded into the background and only responded when people ask him direct questions. This ended up serving him well since it allowed his opponents to destroy each other. But that's not going to work in the general election. In the general election with Hillary Clinton he was, if anything even worse. He rambled, he lied, when they had the town hall format he stalked around the stage and patiently. It took him three tries to definitively answer question about whether or not he had sexually assaulted women. I believe Trump is the only presidential candidate to have lost all of the debates. Even Mitt Romney, who ended up losing the 2012 election, won the first debate with Barack Obama. Trump is also likely to be hurt by his time in the White House. This is what happened to Obama in his first debate with Romney. The insulated bubble of the White House led him to become somewhat complacent and unused to campaigning. Trump, course, continue campaigning but he still lives within a world where everyone reaffirms his greatness and doesn't challenge him. This will leave him unprepared for a debate.
Joe Biden also has a talent for cutting through the bullshit. It's probably going to come in handy in his debate with Trump. And I'm like Clinton, who was a woman, Biden will be allowed to get a little angry.

since many voters can't pay attention for as long as 7 minutes, he'll be fine

I'm wondering how they are going to keep his emotional outburst at bay, especially if on the same stage as Trump. Over the last 6 months or so, there has been a number of incidents where Joe has lost his cool with voters. Quite different then his history has been. We all know trump will push buttons, it is what he does. How are they going to stop Joe not only from these angry outburst, but they appear to almost turn into violence.

Aren't they already letting Biden sit as Bernie stands? Well the good news is that even if they give Biden the debate questions before the debate, AGAIN, he won't be able to do anything with them.

The DNC won’t allow debates. They will use coronavirus as an excuse.
