Is it ok to give my dog empty TP rolls?

He has fun chewing on them and tearing them up but sometimes he swallows little bits. Is this ok or is there something in it that could hurt him?

I have given TP rolls to the dogs that had interest in them. Some dogs saw them of no interest. Most liked playing with a tennis ball in a knee high sock & tied at the top. Modify for size of dog.

I tend to fold the ends of my loo rolls up after putting treats in them. My dog loves playing with it to get the treats out. She never seems to swallow anything but I've not doubt, after seventeen years she probably has.

I used to do this, but I have NO IDEA what they are made out of (how safe the materials are) or where (as in possibly China, which is infamous for putting dangerous things even in pet food ingredients - like melamine).

If the dog is swallowing bits, I would choose another chew toy.  Pet stores have long lasting deer & elk antlers that are naturally shed every year, or you can go to your grocery & get frozen or raw soup bones for chewing.

We used to give our litters these and they provided endless play.   However I kept an eye on what was going on and if I felt there was swallowing 'little bits' going on, they were removed.

Small bits of cardboard should be okay, it isn’t recommended to let the dog have a lot, but a inch sized piece on a medium to large dog should pass through.

I used to have a dog that loved eating Kleenex, either new or used.  The vet had us put the Kleenex box in a larger plastic one where the dog couldn’t reach in and pull out the sheets one by one to eat.

I would eating the dog as he shreds the rolls making sure he doesn’t eat a half roll or something.  A few small slivers from the roll should be okay to pass through.
