Do trolls realize we can change our usernames?
I've had it happen a once in the past where some troll decided they just didn't like me & would stalk every single answer & question I posted, blatantly commenting that regardless of my reply they were reporting me for no reason other than their (self admitted, unwarranted, hatred). It was to the point they would even state in every comment how much they planned to harass me until I, verbatim, "abandoned the platform entirely."
Do these people realize we can just change our usernames and, from then on, no longer have to deal with them ever?
(for further proof, my questions are never assaulted after I change my UN, only before, so it was clearly the person just refreshing my profile rather than anyone actually reacting to my questions themselves).
Additional proof it was one person refreshing the profile, not multiple ppl just disagreeing: the harassment had pure consistency. No matter the time of day I posted my answers/replies I'd get the same spam on every reaction at the exact same time each day.

You can easily save the link to the user's account to your browser, so even if you do change your username, all they have to do is click on the bookmarked page which leads directly to your account.

Yes, I imagine most trolls know users can change their username. Yes, SOMETIMES it stops a user from being harassed by a troll, sometimes not (some users have a posting style that gives them away no matter what they call themselves, what avatar they use, or if they use Anon). Determined trolls can also simply copy the URL of a user they have an issue with, so no matter how that user changes their YA identity, if they use the same account they can be identified by the URL of their YA account.

Remember the site is for information/knowledge seeking questions. Asking us what trolls know or don't know, doesn't qualify (it's more on the level of chat).

Yes, many of them do realize that. My most persistent stalker changes their user name every 3 to 6 months, but the URL address of their YA activity does NOT change.
Many trolls h be very consistent patterns of be havior. Most of my stalkers are 5 to12 hours ahead ofe to 2 hours behind me. My most persistent stalker does vary somewhat on days of the week and somewhat on time of day, but they are usually on for hours. I have inconsistent sleeping patterns and I am a night owl. My behavior patterns can be inconsistent. Sometimes that is VERY intentional. I am not sick. I am an eccentric type 1 diabetic for 65 YEARS and counting.
