Masses are cancelled by Roman Catholic churches. I suppose they aren't very important after all?

Firstly, I think the principle behind your question is valid but the phrasing is inaccurate.  The Confused Catholic Church doesn't claim mass is important, it claims it's ESSENTIAL

.  Not attending mass when you could have is a MORTAL SIN!

The problem here is that Catholics like Abdul, etc can't see the problem of a church that claims something is ESSENTIAL and then cancels it.

The fact that there's a virus, a plague or the sense of cancelling mass, from a human perspective, doesn't change the SPIRITUAL IMPERATIVE the Catholic Church claims for their mass.

If it's a MORTAL SIN for a Catholic to miss mass when they could attend how much more of a sin is for the bishop to cancel mass when it could have gone ahead?

    ..but it's worst than that.

Dig deep into any of the spurious arrogant self-appointed doctrines of the Catholic Church and they fall apart.... just have they do here when the church prescribes missing mass as a mortal sin.

Then there's the tricky problem of non-Catholics that Catholics can't deal with.  For most of the Catholic / Protestant church history the Catholic Church decreed that there was no salvation outside of the Catholic Church (forget that this isn't biblical, isn't part of oral tradition or apostolic succession).  Whilst the Catholic Church decreed Protestants weren't saved the man made rule that missing Catholic mass was a mortal sin was consistent.

The moment the Confused Catholic Church accepted that salvation could be found in other churches is the moment the mortal sin declaration became void, even from a Catholic perspective.  You see mortal sins prevent us gaining salvation if they are not repented off and the Catholic position is that it's a mortal sin not to attend mass.... which means that, from a Catholic perspective, all Protestants still don't have salvation unless they turn to the Catholic Church.... whilst the Catholic Church accepts that some Protestants are saved.    This either means the Catholic Church is lying about Protestant salvation or that missing mass isn't a mortal sin in need of repentance of.

    Another day more Catholic confusion!

Masses continue in private, 24/7 and 365, all around the world. Only public participation has been temporarily curtailed.

They are extremely important, since Jesus Christ, after celebrating the first Mass with His disciples, commanded them "Do this in remembrance of Me". However, that doesn't mean we endanger our health by attending Mass during an epidemic.

Better off without it; it's a counterfeit organization.

Coronovirus is real.God, apparently, not.BTW, in Italy quite a few catholic priests died because of it.God is doing s***y job protecting his most faithful servants.

  • Religious ceremonies being canceled shows that the clergy are finally admitting that their god is unwilling or unable to actually help anybody.
