New mountain bike?
Bought 2 new mountain bikes from Wal-Mart yesterday (maybe a mistake). Anyway, one was a $98 RoadMaster 18 speed, which rides great. The other was an 18 speed Hyper(?) for $124. It's got suspension on the front fork and rear wheel. It rides like crap. It changes gears on its own. When it does, you cant shift out of the gear it went into. You have to stop and physically move the chain to another sprocket. The brakes vibrate and are really loud. One of the front brake pads rub all the time. Is this bike worth keeping? Are there small adjustments I can make to fix these issues or should I return it. If I do return it, should I go with a different brand or hope the next Hyper is better on exchange?

I read your other question too. Neither bike you bought is an actual "mountain bike". They only look like mountain bikes, but are intended for very light recreational use. And that's only problem #1. Problem #2 is, Walmart has no service policy. They don't service what they sell. Haphazardly slapped together by a minimum wage 'associate'.
Problem #3, to get a bike shop mechanic to get it right might cost more than what you paid for the bike. Learn anything? Both bikes are junk. Take 'em back & get a refund. Not an exchange, a full refund. Now take that money to a bike shop & buy one good bike. You'll need more than $200. More like $500 and up. But it'll be worth it.

Already asked & answered on this link... /question/index?qid=20200... In all capital letters...WALMART IS NOT A BICYCLE SHOP!
Take them both back. Get a refund. Then go to a REAL bicycle shop. You'll get a bike professionally assembled by a certified mechanic with a "SERVICE WARRANTY" good for at least one FREE after-the-sale tune-up. Oh...plus you can TEST RIDE bikes before the sale. Gee...I wonder why ya can't do that at Wally World? 🤔

I was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar, that much is true.
