Why would that be so surprising? That's like being surprised those for Clinton voted for Obama.

None of them. Back then, I thought those anti-war, anti-PATRIOT Act young guys were liberal; but nope, they're anti-establisment.
Donald Trump is exactly who they want; someone who will get even with the government they perceived screwed them over and turn Washington inside out.
Hence, why they lump Democrats now with the likes of George W. Bush; who both supposedly wanna tell everyone else what to do.
