So, just work your way through it.
1) 2 blocks east
2) 5 blocks west .. leaving you 3 blocks west
3) 8 blocks east .. leaving you 5 blocks east
4) 2 blocks east .. leaving you 7 blocks east
5) 7 blocks west .. leaving you where you started
6) 1 block east
You end up 1 block east.
