Why can’t we just open everything back up?
Just got back from Shop Rite and there was ZERO social distancing. If everyone is just gonna jam into overcrowded supermarkets every day then you might as well just reopen everything else! No wonder we’re STILL seeing and WILL CONTINUE TO SEE 30,000+ cases per day. And people STILL go to the store coughing & sneezing; it was appalling!
Since this disease WILL continue to spread under these conditions, we might as well have a functioning economy while we’re at it..
I am in NJ. One of the USA hotspots
Walmart has started limiting the amt of ppl in the stores but this just leads to a long line of coughing ppl lingering around outside.

Prematurely reopening facilitates a resurgence. If it isn't done right the first time, it lasts much longer. Look what trump said to encourage reckless behavior: "So if, you know, we have thousands or hundreds of thousands of (symptomatic) people that get better, just by, you know, sitting around and even going to work, some of them go to work, but they get better," he said. ... -trump Mar 5, 2020.

WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN
If Shoprite is ignoring Social Distancing orders th state should issue them a big fine.
If they do it a second time, padlock the store.
It already happened in NY City with, at least, two businesses that ignored the order.

Walmart is so dumb. Their employees cant distance, and long lines outside defeat the purpose I agree. Plus not e ery place practices this bs 6 foot rule.
I agree. Open it all up, let the chips fall where they may.

At the stores In San Francisco they limit the number in the stores ( there are people in lines using social distancing outside the store) and floors are marked for social distancing. People follow the rules. Employees will remind people if they don't.
I don't know about where you live.

I have not seen that where I live. Some stores are limiting the number of people at one time in the store, reserving hours for people in high risk groups, erected shields for their cashiers, and other measures. I see people complying with the 6 foot separation and about 30 - 50% wearing some sort of mask.
What state are you in? I am in central WA.
