Harris would be a terrible VP pick. Not only because she's corrupt and has a bad track record but because that wouldn't be a very strategic choice. Biden will win California even if he's in a coma. He needs to tap someone who can bring him a swing state.

You are assuming their will be a nation left to hold an election as well as people healthy enough to vote.  If the virus itself doesn’t cull the species into extinction then the collapse of the economy, rise in domestic or foreign conflict, or perhaps some other world or national tradgedy may finish America off.  No one expected what’s happening today to be our reality - - no one knows what’s coming tomorrow.

Having painted that rosy picture of our future I think Joe Biden offended a lot of voters by declaring he was going to “pick” a woman VP instead of leaving it open to whomever is best qualified.  For one thing, Biden’s history with women is already controversial enough.  Secondly, there are a lot of Americans who still have very “old fashioned” views concerning women and people of color.  His decision to use this election as an opportunity to advance gender equality may have cost him some votes from the few Republicans unhappy with Trump.

I certainly don't want him to win, but I think he'd be better off picking Klobuchar.   Personally, I kinda liked Gabbard.
