To induce labor or wait?
Taking a poll: baby is full term and ready as far as health and I’m 85% thinned and 2 cm dilated. The doc said baby is so healthy I can be induced on my due date if I want or wait if I want, that it’s up to me and just let her know. She said I can even call a day ahead of my due date and decide if I’m ready. But I like to be prepared and schedule things more in advance. We love the idea of having the baby on Cinco De Mayo (the due date) as it would just be fun to celebrate our child’s birthday on a holiday every year but also I want to give the baby time to develop the strongest brain and lungs possible and am nervous. We’re not Mexican unless it’s way back in our genealogy. We just like to celebrate different cultures. And I read a study that was fine that babies Born last their due date have higher cognitive abilities. I’m 39 weeks + 3 days today so I’m full term. So I don’t know if it will make a big brain development difference or not. But it’s coming soon either way! I’m also so tired of being pregnant! I’m always sick and vomiting and hurting and can’t wait to feel better! So if baby doesn’t come on his own by that date, what decision would you make?! Hubby is ready as can be it says it’s up to me. I’d like to call the doc and tell them today! It’s just such a hard choice!

Well - best to wait - you can do natural things to induce labor if you like but I'm not believing it best to use medications to induce labor as we seldom improve upon nature. An orgasm can induce labor as well as relaxing baths... these are natural inducements - and of course walking ...

Personally in your shoes I'd schedule the induction
Obstetricians have a saying. "Nothing good happens after 40 weeks." The baby is as mature as it's going to get, its brain and lungs are fully developed, it's cooked and ready to come out of the oven. And there are real issues with postmaturity. You can get to the point where the placenta can no longer sustain the baby.
I'm not saying this to scare you. It sounds like you are getting appropriate medical care and the vast majority of women who go postdates do just fine. If you were 42 weeks and your doctor was screaming at you "THE BABY NEEDS TO COME OUT" I would join in the chorus, but as it is it seems like one of two valid options.
And in your shoes I'd opt for the induction.

After reviewing your question history, it is apparent that this is a load of rubbish. According to what you wrote TWO months ago, you were due in ONE month. So that would make you 10 months pregnant dear. Which is not possible.
JUST for a reminder, here is what you posted 2 whole months ago:
Please help me to stop freaking out! Thank you.?
The baby is due in just over a month. I looked around my house yesterday and had a complete panic attack/ meltdown and kinda went off on hubs bc I can’t lift anything and he hasn’t finished doing the things I can’t do yet. He works so much and he always uses that as an excuse but when we have no help, I think it’s time he fix whatever issue it is... show more

This has nothing to do with personal finance. Move your question to pregnancy.
- WTF? You are way more interested in if your child is born on a drunken holiday than being concerned about covid??????
Cinco de Mayo is an AMERICAN holiday, not Mexican.
It's only about drunkenness -- not even cute little leprechauns and luck, like St Paddy's day.
