Yes. Get awarded full custody of the kid. That way the other parent will have to pay child support to you. If you can not do that, get joint custody where you have the kid half of the time. Then neither of you have to pay support to the other one because you each will have the kid half of the time. If the other parent gets married and their new spouse wants to adopt the kids you can get a court to give him parental rights and you give up yours to him. Of course then you will not be the parent and will have NO excuse for wanting to see them or be in their lives, you will have to leave them forever as you will be nothing but a person like from the streets.

Have zero money. Raise the child yourself. You'll get be ordered to pay child support if it's your child but collecting it is another matter.
