There are too many conflicting reports from medical people and government, for anyone to know for sure what would happen if the economy re-opens.

How long should we wait? A year? 5 years? 10 years? By your reasoning no matter how long we wait, there will always be a new wave.

sounds like you are more concerned with your own fears than YOUR "fellow human beings"...

...if this past 8 weeks has shown us anything, it is that there are vastly disparate results in areas enforcing the same restrictions..... doesn't that indicate that there are other factors involved that we can take into account when formulating a reopening plan?

banning personal automobile usage will also result in fewer deaths too.... but arguing against such a thing does not mean that we are being selfish auto-bots that don't care about human life.... real solutions require real-world understanding and perspective..

This is a case where both sides are right and both sides are wrong.  Yes, there may be a second wave but there is also the issue of being homeless and starving.

Additionally, even if we all isolate, if people wind up homeless, they will wind up in situations where it gets passed on.

I suggest that people, who are willing to take the risk work and keep the food supply etc going and if you're vinerable or scared, then you isolate.

Personally, I have asthma and haven't been out in two months but I'm glad some people are still working, producing food, delivering food, providing medical care etc.

There is no evidence that if that did happen it would nearly as serious as the first wave. We have better testing, better treatment, understand the importance of isolation of those with symptoms, etc.

Destroying the economy will be worse. Only a fool or an enemy of the USA would fail to understand that.
