Because the European people who possess power to influence the world ,using Christianity of so many sects, as tools to dominate the world . It was started since the BattleShip Policy of the Old Imperialism or Western Colonization and continue to be Neo Imperialism . They divide the land of the world among themselves and giving them different sects of Christianity, as you see, for paying them the cost of the land they usurped. When you study the activity of KKK. in US. then you would understand, how they become enmity among the people by using racism, colour distinctions, nationalism, so on and so forth ,in the name of the Cross and Salvation.

Many things break up friends and families. It happens between atheist friends and families where there is no way any religion can be blamed! Divorce is the biggest break-up in families but religious reasons come way down on the list. Christianity stresses the need for faithfulness between the man and the wife, and even where one does not have Christian beliefs, they are urged to stay together. This goes right against the modern trend to divorce, but many claimed Christians are so influenced by modern trends, they divorce when the Bible shows that sexual infidelity is the only ground for it. If Christian moral standards were adhered to, there would be a huge drop in divorce rates. But there ARE pseudo-Christian groups that actively cause divorce where one is a member of their religion but the other resists it. They bring reproach on Christ's good name.

As for friendships, yes, religion can break those up where one friend does not want the other to keep trying to convert them but this wish is not respected. That's only the fault of the religion if prosyletizing is a requirement for the member. Christianity does not advocate splitting up friends due to different religious beliefs, though it warns against an ungodly person drawing the religious one away into disbelief. Sometimes a choice has to be made. But, again, you might find the same situation between atheist friends where one is going into drugs and drink and the other sees the dangers of that.

Following the teachings of Christ is what Christianity should be all about. Sadly, some have misunderstood Christ's teaching to mean only their denomination is approved of by God, and THAT causes unnecessary divisions. But Christians have to be faithful to Christ and a lot of non-Christians resent that.

Those that reject the atonement Yeshua made of our sins may be among our own family and they will become our enemies.

Mat 10:34-39 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person's enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

If truth breaks up families because some members of the family choose ignorance, that isn't the fault of truth.

It isn't, except by christians themselves.

They seem to think they still have us fooled.

    But they don't.

If the followers are true to the teachings, then they are brought together. Even with unbelievers. That is the basis of the faith.

Wars, torture, castration, and other atrocities have been committed in the name of Christ (the peaceful lamb of God). Misunderstanding is responsible.

No idea what you're talking about.  I've never lost any family members or friends due to my religion.

It's not pleasant, but at least demonstrates Jesus delivering on his promise.
