Have you ever been to Mount Rushmore, was it worth the trip?
I’ve been driving for nearly 15 hours. Through Missouri, Iowa and finally hit South Dakota and I’m about halfway through the state. I haven’t seen anything about farmland for about 700 miles and I’m so bored I feel brain dead. Somebody please tell me this pile of rocks is worth this horrible road trip.

I have been and enjoyed it, but everything was open. The park is open but all you can do is see the sculpture. The interpretive center is closed: https://www.nps.gov/moru/index.htm
I liked Bear Country USA which you can still drive through, but everything except the drive through is closed: https://www.bearcountryusa.com/ .

I don't think it would be worth the trip for me. There are other places I prefer to go.

Mount Rushmore was made to attract tourists. You can not really say you saw the Black Hills of South Dakota without seeing it. However if you can only visit one place in the Black Hills I would recommend Reptile Gardens, the biggest collection of reptiles in the entire WORLD.
