How did you turn your life around at 30?

I would love to hear how you turned things around and made something of yourselves.

I hit the ground running when I moved out of my parents' house at 18. I never went in a downward spiral, so there was no need to turn things around.

My life was already good at around 30, so there wasn't really any turnaround.  But the thing I was lacking was a partner.  Getting married around that time improved all the important aspects of my life.  I was fortunate to find the right person.  It had little to do with planning, so I couldn't advise on how someone else could find someone.

I finished my PhD at 30.  It made all the difference.  I went from a dead end $50,000 a year job (well below poverty level in Orange County, CA) to a six-figure salary in only a few short years.  It let me buy a house, make improvements that saved me money, and allowed me to save up for a second home in a third of the time it took me to save up for the first.

I was on a downhill slide from the age of 18 until I turned 74.  Better late than never.

It took me a little longer. At 39 I went to nursing school and became a nurse. It wasn't the best decision I ever made, because I had undiagnosed ADD, which turned out to be a major problem in my work. I also got a debilitating injury from the work, but I did get to help a lot of people.

I turned my life around by knowing what I wanted then getting a plan to achieve that goal.  I knew the job I wanted and went to college to achieve that goal.

        Luckily I did this at a younger age . By age 30 I was make 100k a year .

  • i quit my job and traveled the world for a few months. it was life changing. i dont suggest to quit but i suggest you travel (when it is safe to do so again)

You keep your head down and keep working is what you do. I was older than that when I had to turn things around so I changed careers. It wasn't easy but I kept at it by keeping my goals in mind.
