Why do so many Americans want to disarm our citizens?
Do they think that we don't have a responsibility for our security? Do they believe that our people will be safer if we are all unarmed? Do they implicitly trust the government? Do they know what happened throughout history when the people were disarmed? Please explain to me the rationale!

Despite the many failures of socialism, there are still those who think government control is the key to social happiness. They believe that government control means they can sit back, relax and have the government provide for them. Taking anything that can be used as a useful weapon out of the hands of citizens is a part of this control.

I quote "why do americans want to disarm OUR citizens?".
You need to explain who OUR is before I, the great MOOSE, one almost as tough as the Crusher in the ring, I, MOOSE, a firm believer in the United States of America and the right to bare arms,
should listen to your puling whiney OUR and present and argument for YOUR side.
Signed,
MOOSE the Great.

Most Americans do not want to disarm their fellow citizens. There are some Americans who want to disarm YOU. Example: a certain Chicago suburb enacted an ordinance a few years ago prohibiting the private ownership of guns. Exempted from the law were virtually all members of government units from the mayor on down to the secretary of the library board.

Let me quote what I once told my father:
"What am I supposed to do with a gun? USE IT?!? And later try to convince a judge I acted in self defense?? No thank you."
A Christian friend of mine had a different perspective: he would much rather be on the receiving end because he knew he would go to heaven. He wasn't sure of the gunowner.

they don't. Having the right to bear arms does not mean the right to bear EVERY arms. No citizen needs military grade weaponry

"So many" don't. What "so many" Americans want are REASONABLE gun laws. How is a semi-automatic rifle going to "save" you?

you really think your guns can stop the biggest army in the world at your doorstep? You don't trust government, then change your votes.
