I was 12 when I bought Steppenwolf - Live on LP in 1970 with money I earned from mowing lawns. I wore through several copies before getting it on CD

I've bought so many albums in the past few decades that I honestly have no idea.  It was probably some metal album and it definitely would have been on cassette.

I was 13. I bought Metallica's "Ride The Lightening" and "Master Of Puppets" on cassette tape from a garage sale in 2001.

I started playing guitar 2 months later and joined a band 3 months after that. A band which is still going strong.

No but I still do have "...And Justice For All" on cd.

The first album I bought with my own money was Elton John’s Greatest Hits, on vinyl.  I converted entirely over to CDs in the mid-90s.  I no longer have any 8 tracks, vinyl, or cassettes.

Oh gawd, this is going to show how old I really am, but my very first vinyl album was this Donny Osmond double album.

I was about 18, and after having bought some singles, I bought a K Tel rock compilation album.

I still have all of my older formats of music, from quality cassettes I recorded myself, and all my LPs.
