Medical Insurance change but keep the same doctor?
Hi,
I recently got promoted at my job and now I have my own medical insurance. I’m officially off my parent’s insurance but I want to keep the same doctor and provider. They are in network with my new insurance. Do I need to be set up as a new patient or can I just have them switch my insurance to my new one?

You are not a new patient. But you will have to ask your current doctor IF they take your new insurance. Better find out before you use it.

You are not a new patient. Just give them your new insurance info. They will bill your new insurance company from now on. Smooth & easy.

They can just switch the insurance. You would not need to be set up as a new patient.

Just tell them you are insured with XYZ company and provide the plan information.

The next time you go, just tell them you have new insurance and they'll update their files. You don't have to re-register.

You aren't a new patient to your doctor, are you? So no, you don't set up as a new patient. However next time you visit your doctor's office they will need to see your new insurance card.

When you go to the doctor, all you need to do is give them the new insurance card.

At your next visit you will give them your new insurance details. You will not be a new patient.
