Did your parents whip you if you were bad?
My mom used a whip, hair brush or tennis raquet! Don't remember what I did that was so bad but if I didn't act polite. But I had friends that had parents that got treated worse and people think growing up in the 50's and 60's was a great time.
My mom was out of control whipping for not holding silverware correctly, eating to fast or for not having phony compliments. Then going crazy for not picking up the dishes but then for not rinsing off the dishes properly.

My parents were abusive they didn't whip me or beat me when I was bad they whipped me and beat me every single day even if I was perfectly well-behaved

dad yes mother no she never even raised her voice being the oldest male it was my responsibilty to watch out and keep my siblings in line

I grew up in the 60's and 70's and was spanked a few times. However, I usually deserved it and it was normal discipline as far as I'm concerned.

They'd spank us (sometimes with our pants still up), but that's about it.
No belts, no whips, no paddles.

My brother and I both have had to pull our pants down and get our butts spanked by our dad when we were bad.
