    Essentially the same list as today...Honda and Toyota.  The biggest change is Datsun ( now Nissan ) was more reliable back then compared to the stuff they're putting out today IMHO.

    The biggest problem with those cars from that era was how quickly they rusted.  I live in an area that used a lot of road salt during the winter months and I had a few Japanese cars from the 80's.  They all had rust issues as they aged ( after about 5 or 6 years old ).
