Why don’t liberals encourage social distancing when it comes to riots?

Because the riots are outside, where the virus doesn't spread much. The virus spreads much more when indoors.

Hypocrisy is something leftists accept as a necessity for pushing their ideology and agendas.

The downtowns will empty out again. These young protesters are too young to remember what a struggle it was to rebuild the country's downtowns.  Many- Seattle, Newark, Cleveland, San Diego, etc were flat out dead or on death's door.  Even downtown LA was largely rundown or abandoned.  Now with all the ruin, it may be worse than the previous riots, that helped push middle class flight out of cities.  What a colossal waste.
