Fail safe backup for Trump.?

 When Nixon became unstable it was said some top officials were ready to intervene. Defense Secretary Schlesinger instructed the military to check with him or the secretary of state before following orders from Nixon to launch nuclear weapons for example.

Is it likely there is a group now in the background watching Trump.

    I suspect there are many on Trump's staff who are there ONLY to prevent him from doing something worse than what he has already been doing.  Some people, other than Trump, think about the good of America whereas Trump only thinks about himself.

    Nixon was a decorated Lieutenant Commander on a capitol ship in the Pacific Theatre in WW II. No comparison with Trump.

    I would be quite sure there is, and they've probably been there since 2016.
