Speak with no filter?

If someone describes you as having no filter what does that mean and what are the most prominent traits of someone with no filter?

it seems like people with no filter don't have a lot of impulse control.  Most of us think things which aren't too positive, but we usually refrain from saying them.  Someone without impulse control says whatever comes to mind, without consideration for those around him or her.  These people can be mean and thoughtless.

I know someone like this... honestly?  I just ignore her because i know that someone who does that stuff has to be miserable inside and doesn't care about others at all.  (or they are just stupid)

If you say things to people like, "I hate that shirt you're wearing" when no one asked you your opinion ... that's speaking with no filter. You can expand that many ways in all directions. People with no filter often come across as very rude and self obsessed.

To me it basically means you say things at inappropriate times or you are extremely blunt. For example, if you’re at a funeral and someone says, “I’m really going to miss them,” to which you would respond, “yeah but he kind of deserved it because he did this and that.” Maybe not the best example, but I hope it kind of helps. People with no filter aren’t ALWAYS rude, but to me that usually means they are, sort of like when a person says something and another responds, “now is not the time or place.”

You're probably not going to learn much from them, but at least you'll have the occasional laugh.
