What type of syrup is used in ice cream at parlors?

I recently visited an ice cream parlor, and I saw one of the workers putting some syrup in a soft serve ice cream machine, now three of my kids are allergic to a lot of syrups. The ice cream looked good, but I had to turn my back. Does anyone know what type of syrup they used?

the person making the ice cream is the one to ask. I bet different companies that make soft serve use different things.

You given us zero information. What ice cream shop? What color of syrup?

You'd have to ask at the ice cream parlour, it could be flavouring or colouring syrup.

You probably saw a Mix being put into the machine. Plain syrup would just muck up the workings of the machine.

Usually a sugar. based syrup, flavoured with chocolate, caramel, real fruit juice or fake fruit flavouring.

  • What syrups are your kids allergic to? You probably saw an ice cream mix or the flavoring, not a syrup that you would have at home.
