If I were to quit weed? How do I do it?

Please and thank you. Give best advice I’ve smoked for probably a solid 4-5 years at this point of my life perhaps longer. And at this point I’m using very frequently. I know it’s going to be hard, but I’m thinking it’s probably time, I’m about to turn 21. I don’t have too much experience with many other drugs at this point in my life, I’ve used LSD and alcohol but not much, am not addicted, am trying to go straight edge I think. How do I do this? Best advice? Thanks.

Im not really experience in the area of quitting a drug lol, but I have turned to abusing substances to deal with other issues in my life and it became kind of addictive. The best thing I could recommend doing is first assessing why you smoke weed. Do you smoke because getting high helps you feel fulfilled and happy? If that’s the case then you might be depressed and the first step would be getting help with that. Do you smoke because there’s something stressing you out and the high helps you avoid it? If that’s the case then you should try to solve that problem and the need to get high might become less pressing. Do you smoke just because you’re bored? If that’s the case then maybe try finding something else that you like to do instead of smoking. Honestly, I’ve used getting high or drunk in all three of those situations, and I know that fixing it is so much easier said than done, so I wish you the BEST of luck!! Maybe one day I’ll stop using lmaooo :)

Stop by your local police department and ask to speak to an officer.  Show them what you have written here and ask what assistance they can offer.  Be sure to bring any weed that you still possess so you can turn it over to them.  This will help you make the fresh start you are looking for.  Be ready to let them know where you have been buying your weed from since you started smoking it.

You stop.  It's that easy.  Sure, you're going to have major problems sleeping, but weed is not physically addictive.  You can stop any time you want, all you have to do is want.
