Can I eat a chocolate santa from a few years ago?
A few years back my dad bought this chocolate santa around like Christmas time. Anyone have any idea if it would still be okay to eat? The expiration date says 05/31/2018.
Thanks!

I would totally eat it as long as the packaging looks intact, it looks like chocolate, smells okay, doesn't have any bugs or mold on it.
I don't know what the other answers think could actually go wrong with chocolate aside from it not tasting at its best.

It's definitely not going to taste fresh and bugs may have even hatched in it by now. I'd throw it away. You can get a nice fresh candy bar at Marc's for .78¢.

I highly doubt there would be any reason for that to go off. Most of that kind of chocolate isn't real, and has so much additives and such in it that it will last forever.

you probably can--chocolate can stay fine for awhile--it might just not taste too good--if it is a cheap chocolate like palmer's or elmer's I would chuck it....also look at the chocolate-if it is white on the outside all the fat has left the choc and it will be a weird texture.

You CAN do whatever you want. Is it a good idea? No. Will it take okay? Probably. Will it make you sick? Maybe.
Something that is two years beyond the expiration date really isn't something you want to inject.
