It means that it's best that you do NOT sin. Jesus doesn't mean to literally pull out your eye. Anything that causes you to sin, try to control it or stay away from it as much as possible, and leave the rest up to Jesus. He died for our sins after all.

I don't understand that if your eye causes you to stumble surely your feet also caused the stumble due to falling with them, also the whole body may of caused the stumble also. This could be interpreted very strangely.
