Tulum Travel ?

Has anyone been to Tulum this month or recently?  I am going at the end of this month.  I saw a guy I know go last week and I tried to ask him if he said his purpose of travel was for business or pleasure he did not get my question and is a dick so this is why I am asking this and I know you can travel there regardless.  On the US Embassy site it says, "Travelers entering Mexico by land from the United States may be denied admission if the purpose of their visit is considered non-essential.  Travelers should carry evidence of the essential nature of their visit and evidence of their resident status in Mexico, if applicable."

My question is has anyone traveled there recently and if so what did you say your purpose of travel was?

Update:

ALSO IF YOU HAVE NOT TRAVELED TO MEXICO OR JUST WANT TO COMMENT ON WHY I SHOULD NOT TRAVEL PLEASE GO AWAY.  I NEED AN ACTUAL ANSWER THAT WILL HELP ME!!!! TELLING ME ABOUT COVID NUMBERS DOES NOT HELP.  SO IF YOU HAVE NOT TRAVELED TO TULUM RECENTLY GO AWAY!

You do know that the US has the highest level of Corona virus in the world. Why do you think you could travel to another country without proof of business in that country. Mexico has it's own problems with the virus. They don't need your help. Gypsyfish gave you a good answer and is more informed about travel out of country than most.

Good luck with your travel, you'll need it. I have friends in Mexico that tell me it is difficult for anyone to cross the border either way. There is no such thing as entitlement just because you think your better than anyone else.

I don't think you got the point of the statement on the embassy site. It doesn't say that they will ask you the purpose of your travel, and believe you. It says you must have evidence- that would be a letter from a business, for example, saying that you are needed for some reason. They don't want people from the US bringing COVID in. I know Americans are used to being able to do whatever they want, but no one wants us right now.
