Why are Bahamians using the U.S. Dollar?
The Bahamas have their own currency and is part of the British Commonwealth. Why use American currency? It is not part of the United States (unless an independent part) and the Queen would have its head if this keeps up!

Likely as the larger percentage of its tourists are Americans so it is easier to accept US dollars instead of making Americans exchange their currency for Bahamas money. Many poorer countries accept US dollars as they are less volatile than their own currency.

They are not alone. It is called in the US a dollarization. They do not even need to ask for permission.
