Can I get hot sauce recommendations? ?

Hi there, I was wondering if someone could recommend some hot sauces for me-whether they are available in store or online doesn't matter. I am pretty new to hot sauce in general but I know I prefer chili hot sauces-I do not like the taste of habaneros in basically anything. Taste is more important than heat, so mild/medium sauces prefered but will bare the heat if you really think it tastes good. I already know about heatonist.com so if you know of any other websites that would also be helpful.

Thanks in advance!

I was a chilehead way back for many years, so from years of experience I impart these pearls of wisdom.

Flavor is the most important part of a hot sauce - vinegar and heat just doesn't get the job done. I settled on Sriracha as a red hot sauce (lower on the heat scale but excellent for a whole host of things), Inner Beauty (but it has habaneros) that is a sweet mustard base. Lastly a good green sauce for eggs and cheesy dishes - easy to make at home with tomatillos and jalapenos.Texas Pete, Franks or Crystal when you just need a splash or two in a dip or recipe that calls for hot sauce.

Lately I have been into Yellow Bird (Austin TX) the serrano sauce is my favorite for a green-ish sauce. Their sauces are very good an not searingly hot.

Hot sauces very significantly, from Tabasco to Insanity Sauce. So you really have to start trying them one by one till you get what you are looking for. Since you are just starting out, pick a few off the shelf at your local grocery store. Then work you way up to hotter and hotter till you are satisfied.
